Opens up the blocked-off fender coves into the wheel well to vent high pressure and temperature air, reducing drag and increasing downforce.
Sits behind the seats just rear of the center console, so it doesn't eat into passenger legroom. Uses rubber tabs and mats to keep drinks from sliding around.

Engineering
Before the fender cove ducts ever hit a printer, the design was run through flow simulation. The colored trajectories are air moving through the duct, and that's how the bell mouth and the internal shape got settled — by analyzing them, not guessing at them.
